Unfortunately we, the tax payers, will be up for the cost a drawn out enquiry, to ensure everything was done that could be done before the fatal shot was fired and the poor old trigger puller will probably have his life ruined because of one low life.
I believe that if you present a firearm at the police you have given up your right to life. No police officer should be shot in the line of duty, if he has the means to prevent it.

Yep I am with you on that Maca49. The job the Police do is thankless and would frustrate the crap out of a saint.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

I thank them all the time when they are generous enough to wave me down and gift me a piece of paper, so much so that I give them money in return.

Inquiry will probably cost $250 000 upwards? I'll save them the time and money,

He's dead. Dig a hole and move on to the next scum bag.

Apparently he was kicked out of the army for disciplinary reasons according to the rock radio station.

less than two years in army before dismissal for disciplinary reasons.A situation it seems that has overtones eerily similar to the napier gun battle. tragic ,a life is lost, but if you wanna play in this sandpit well nuff said.

Yep I would think as soon as they found that out and he fired at them it would be shoot to kill.

What a fuckwit. Good work AOS.

Wonder how the media plays this one out? Reckon they will blame the loser for his own shit choices or blame guns and the failure of government to catch him earlier? I somehow think the latter.

I can't help but somehow feel sorry for him, how can everything be so bad that beating up an elderly couple and shooting at the Police is a valid choice?? Then I shake my head and think,,, Fuck him.

lookinat the latest Stuff photos of him and his rambo type military attitude ,methinks he may have had a few crook LEDs in the old grey matter. still no worries now cause all LEDS are buggered infinito.

Moral: remington bushmasters dont fuck round and 10/1 is not a police cricket score in this case!

So far the media have been balanced on this one. I think the fact that an elderly couple were brutilised may have swayed their usually biased opinions. The minister made a good comment on radio this morning along the lines of (we have very few gunfights in NZ and the Police when confronted by someone shooting at them react to defend their lives)-or something along that line, which is a fair and sensible reaction.

Its always sad when someone looses their life in a tragedy but even sadder if an innocent party had been killed. Just hope the libotards don't start the usual Police bashing on this one.
