Some useful statistics from Nicole McKee

Taken from the heavily left leaning survey just released:

    Nicole's words:

The firearms registry can only work if everyone complies, including gang members and criminals. There is no chance of this happening,” she said.

She pointed to the 1997 Thorpe report, which recommended a registry, but with this qualification: “Unless a compliance rate of not less than 90 per cent can be achieved, the benefits derived from registration would be significantly reduced. There is also the issue of guns with no serial number; in the year to June, only 394 out of 1213 firearms seized by police from non-licensed people had serial numbers. Of the 18 pistols with serial numbers, one was reported stolen and 13 were not registered."

“The firearms registry would not have stopped any of the latest firearm incidents,” McKee said.

“If we had confidence that it would have, we would support it, but the evidence shows us it won’t work.”

The National Party supports the registry but only if it is “worth the required investment, sufficiently protected owners’ private information and was effective in limiting illegal guns in the community”. "

The registry does what it is supposed to do. Cost tremendous amounts of money, money which the government is obliged by the legislation to recover from fal owners, thus making fal ownership expensive and ultimately uneconomic for most of the general populace.

apart from that do not trust "surveys" you have not forged yourself...

How could there possibly be 13 'unregistered' pistols floating around??

I thought all pistols had to be registered, proper safes, licence category, etc.

Something is seriously wrong here and there's only one reasonable explanation. Unlawful importations.

Excuse me, are you trying to say that along with shitloads of drugs and drug precursors that are brought into the country literally all the time, there may also be firearms being smuggled too?

Nonsense, it's obviously licensed firearm owners supplying all the guns!

Maybe cutdown firearms under 762mm are counted as "pistols"?

I would like to see the list of 'pistols'. I had never thought of that from a statistical perspective.

Regarding illegal firearms such as pistols.
It's a bit like McDonalds when you're a drug importer. Instead of upsidze to fries, you qualify for a free handgun with every order over 500kg.

Unfortunately the government-owned media will not present this information to the sheeple. So the sheeple will continue to believe the line spun by their masters.

How many kg to qualify for an MG42 or full auto M16 carbine ? If there are firearms being imported with drugs it does seem strange that nothing really 'effective' is brought in. Not saying that pistols arent in the mix

I'd guess that in the grand scheme of things gang warfare hasn't really heated up. An old 12ga would be fine if you wanted to scare the oppositions tinny house without a high risk of killing someone. After the increase of shootings that have resulted in injury/death as opposed to the intimidation tactics of drive-by shooting in the past they will be looking for more suitable equipment.
I really hope I'm wrong but I see this as the start of a downward slope for quite a few years to come.
