    Read it - appalled that shooting appears to be the 'go to' option.
    Unusual for stuff.co.nz actually have 'for/against' commentary.
    Highlights the fact that our frontline coppers have almost zero training in potentially lethal situations.
    The reported training scenario of a 'domestic', and the trainee's response makes me wonder if that situation could've been handled better - by trainers and trainees.
    Funding cuts are affecting all dept's - and the end result is people being shot by wound up coppers.
    The frontline guys should never be first responders, if they've just come from a highly stressful situation elsewhere.
    Management of their personnel should be the first priority of line managers.
    Just my 2c worth.

    This is just crazy, to think that we basically have these death squads running around the streets.
