So how come then, quade bike deaths are accepted as being inevitable. "Just an accident" people say. Its a hunting forum mantra.

I say, "hop on a quade, and its a loaded gun".

Done quad and chainsaw courses, NZQA recognized.

Both required for work at conservation sanctuary, and the chainsaw for my business and hobby as well.

To be honest I climb fences and all sorts of obstacles with a loaded weapon very often, safety on but most important, I'm always aware of my muzzle direction and my finger is outside the triggerguard.

Is this while you are working?
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Really personally mines on the ground a post away at least and I'll collect it easily from the other side. Dude it's a milli second to disaster !
and always an accident. Sorry your practice Im not happy with but just my opinion and won't affect me !

Depends on the fence. A standard 9 wire fence I can walk over but with mesh netting fences like ours here were the wire cant be pushed down also has an eletric wire running on the top I do what happy said and put the gun over first then jump

And yet there is nothing for shooting is there.
You get your experience from hunting mates and gun clubs..if you belong to one
so bad habits can be obtained
