Also, the JW15 was a copy of a design that was itself flogged from Europe by a Philippines outfit - so it may not be a Chinese-sourced firearm at all. The Norinco semi-auto rimfires were another example of this, I had one from Norinco at one stage that I had to flog parts off a Philippines-made version with a buggered bolt to keep it going after the mags and trigger fell apart. There should be some identifying mark on it somewhere...
I've got one, manufacturer Polytech, Model J15.

Due to unfortunately having a activated event and a reminder email (I had another 2 days left out of 30 and was hoping to do it when im able to pick up another gun) I got about about 15 or so done over the phone in about 40 minutes after not being able to use the website, to be fair even though the lady on the phone clearly had a lack of firearms knowledge we still got through it. I had a few oddball things (s&w revolver in 455, carcano etc) that apparently werent an option in their system but she just overrode it and entered them manually

    Interesting

I got the email saying 'your change of address and/or recent purchase are a triggering event and register your stuff within the month'

So I email back saying that I would like this decision reviewed as I did these things before that date for that express reason
Get a phone call today and asked for confirmation email

    quoted in part-
    Regarding our recent call.

I have closed off the activating event as you advised you had submitted COA prior to the Registry going live.

I would like to rectify my previous statement: items are to be registered latest 31 August 2028, correction on my prior statement on the phone of 24 June 2025. Apologies for this mix up. https://www.firearmssafetyauthority....our-arms-items

However, this date changes if an activating event occurs, if an activating event occurs as outlined below, you are to register all Firearms in your possession within the given timeframe:

Some more copy and paste stuff but y'all get the drift

Interesting, I tried to use Realme for something else and it required verification. It indicated I needed photo verification to use it

After succeeding in taking a photo ect, I was sent an email sqaying verification was taking up to 5 weeks at the moment!

Sad really and your example would not appear to be an isolated case. And how many BSA Sportsman 15 owners are there out there also oblivious to the mag capacity changes?

Apparently 3600 licence holders have registered 15,000 firearms, according to the Antique Armas Association. That's an average of 4 per licence.

And they are the guys society need to be terrified of. Weapon of choice in any mass murder right?

I’ve just finished registering my stuff via phone as can’t be bothered with electrickery. It took approx 40 minutes. Girl who did the entering was most pleasant. Sadly their ‘drop down’ menu had nothing on old Swedish 6.5x55’s so my lot dating from 1900 - 1941 in various configuration of m96, m38, m63 etc had to be entered by her as ‘custom’. Guess that’s makes them really really valuable now.
