Parliament is a public area. DPS are meant to be highly trained members of the NZP. They carry firearms, weapon retention is one of the fundamental principles of anyone who carries one.

Given that NZP are continually trying to preach to LFAO on how / what to do, it is fitting that one of their own should be held accountable to the same standard at minimum.
What is LFAO? Lie their Fucking Arse Off?

I came home from a hunt late at night years ago and left my rifle on the doorstep overnight. Get a bang on the door the next morning and the local cop standing there with a stern look on his face "is this yours mate?" I nodded sheepishly and he just shook his head and left after thrusting it into my arms. The look on his face was punishment enough

No he shouldn't have left it there in the first place, the retrieval then would not have matter?

But as pointed out clubbies are not highly trained DPS members and a range is not usually a public space and let's not forget the fire arm involved was locked and loaded.

I'd have thought dropping for 20 would have just been the starting point.

A month or so on kitchen duty migh be more apprppriate

    Cheers
    Pete

I would have charged one of my soldiers for it.

Its a chargeable offence. I dont recall the max punishment, but it would probably be along the lines of a fine (and they arent small), loss of privaleges, depending on seriousness reduction in seniority/rank. Not sure if a trip to SCE would result.
