Exactly....I'd like him to let us have a little more information on what he witnessed if he was there and took this pic.
If he was there then he must have seen what lead up to and after the taking of this photo.
It is common practice when having a shotgun fit for this to be done.
But for all concerned, you more than double check that it's unloaded. This he must have witnessed.

Overly sensitive scaremongering causes more issues than anything in that picture

Some blew the muzzles and flash suppressors to bits other made a perfect caliber sized hole with no damage to the barrel.
They could potentially kill at range imo.

I can understand someone who's right into there shotgun shooting being fitted up but in this case it's a novice shooter who probably doesn't have a FAL & very limited/maybe nil experience, what are they going to take away from it? That its ok to look down the barrel of a gun handed to them!
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

That's a questionable assumption. I would pick that if it was a novice they would be supplied with an U/O. In the photo it is a camo semi with a mag extension so more likely to be the users own gear, and that is why it is being checked for fit.

I'm assuming it's a pump action machine gun rifle and it's a hostage situation

That's not a questionable assumption though aye

Here's an assumption - they may take away from the experience that shooting is safe and a fun sport ? If all of your assumptions were correct.

Well it looks like camo to me.

I can see a gas port at the from end of the fore end which indicates a semi.

There is a black tube sticking out in front of the fore end which looks awfully like a mag extension.

Other than sponsors products or participants own gear at a sporting clays shoot all other shotguns supplied by organisers at clay bird shoots have been U/O.

Consider it a possible rational deduction rather than a snap assumption.

Well, I don't like the look of the photo, but i certainly don't know anything about shotgun fitting, that might explain my issue with my shooting. To be fair I don't even like looking down the end of my own barrels, bolt out and everything. I still don't think a firearm should be pointing in the direction of another person, loaded or not!!! Unless that so called person is somewhere they shouldn't be, eg: your bed, paddock, wife, kids, down the road with your bike, car ,etc.
