Where Do Crooks Get Their Gats?

We’ve been told that the main source of firearms to crooks is licensed buyers/owners redirecting them?

Seems to me there must be a heap of that going on to exceed what these guys must have missed?

I listen to ZB alot, talk back...better than half of the radio stations out there lol, anyhow a week ago when the topic was based around firearm regs and those regs being scrutinized as we know they are. One particular guy phoned in and declared he was a dealer...albeit on a small scale but a dealer none the less. He claimed knowledge of firearms coming in via the Ports in containers, he was also an ex Mountain Safety Council firearm instructor whom ran courses for ne FAL applicants. He had input and knowledge of the process the aussie prick whom caused the ChCh event to happen.

His words were effectively the inspection of containers must be increased MASSIVELY!.

I know when I was approved to open & inspection containers when I was employed in the wire fencing industry that merely 2% of imported containers were inspected by MAF or whom ever at that time (2002). Not a lot has changed by the sound of things.

I was discussing the subject of illegal firearms this morning with a current serving policeman and he was under no illusions as to the significant amount that exist and that come into the country in shipping containers. In his words, every car he pulls over at night in South Auckland is more likely to have an illegal firearm in it than not.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Depends on your import license, if you are part of the SES you can do 100% of the inspections yourself. MPI only get involved if you escalate something that tickles their fancy, shit we get red backs and they just ask for the dead insects to be placed in a sample jar and sent to them.

The police’s own data (only released under OIA) shows >80% of firearms recovered from gangs & crims have never been legally imported into NZ.
At the same time Cahill was bleating on about shill buyers being how majority of guns got to gangs. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story (lie).

Gejuz, I started working for the Ullrich family in the 90's mate, Pel Industries in ChCh (electric fencing), then moved into deer/sheep netting etc so that was with Southwire Engineering in Hornby, which became led into Ruro Corp. I left there after 12yrs. FG Ullrich owned Pel & Southwire,
