Personally i wouldn't shoot an animal if i didn't know exactly where my mate was. My family knew a fella who shot his nephew that way as the pig ran back between them all.
He tragically ended up dying in their arms. Just freaking horrible.
That's just not gonna be me i decided. If that loses me a bunch of animals then its worth it imo.
Matter of fact it did cost me what i think was a rusa. It had the same whistle as my mates deer call he made and demonstrated in camp. I was in a ravine and just told the guy with me to unload and freeze. I ended up calling out as i dint want to get shot and the deer i couldn't see bounded away. Ah well.
That comes back to rule #5, often overlooked: Know your firing zone......
Completely agree with your sentiment.
His course was probably far more in depth than the one mentioned....obviously no more effective but more in depth as the consultant would want to get paid more....I wonder if it came with any sort of warranty regarding effectiveness...?
