    British shotgun proofs

So tell me what I have here

    It has
    BP under Crown
    BV under Crown
    NP under Crown
    1 1/4 which I assume is OZs
    Choke

And a 10 in a diamond with LO under it

I'm picking the LO under 10 is the year code ?

The rest is pretty obvious to me .
10 gauge BP that has been reproofed for nitro and ( a light ) 1 1/4 oz of shot

Am I on the right track ?

It's a Jones Underlever 10 Gauge Hunter and Son's ( Webley made ) single barrel shotgun.

It has a massive frame, most likely a 10 gauge on an 8 gauge frame because it is 2" across the breech face

LO could be long. There were a number of lengths of chamber from 3 1/2 down to 2 1/2 inches.

The parallel of the chamber is 3 1/8th long before the forcing cone
So I think it is intended for 2 7/8" cases with the roll crimp

Email or phone the Birmingham proof house, they do sod all for modern gun/riflemaking anyway (glorified rubber stamp) and are paid for by our (UK) taxes and have plenty of time for a yarn.

The 10 is definitely "10 bore"
Usually the other one will be chamber length but I'm not sure what LO stands for. Like others said "Long"?
10ga is usually 3.5" long shell right? Sometimes 3"?
