Eley cartridge failure - black swan event or TBE

Quick question; having a few hours off during great weather, went clay shooting. Usually shoot 12G Winchester ammo but picked up a bunch of Eley cartridges on a v good deal (pricewise) couple of weeks ago.

When on the second box, 2 misfires in a row, then a third 8 shots later. Reverted to Winchester backups and no failures, so I doubt it's the shotgun. Firing pin visibly did its job on the misfires.

Eley is a sound brand based purely from what I read online (yeah, I know), so was this likely just happenstance or is it a case of 'get what you paid for'?

It has been known to happen with some shotguns and the ely olympic blues trap ammo shotties with with rebounding pins, or older guns with weakened springs are most likely to experience it. The primers seem to be seated a tad deeper and will generally go off on a second strike, or in a gun with a more positive strike. The same thing has happened in my experience with clever brand ammunition annoying but not unknown

Thank you Marty. I'll just call this a one-off. The gun was new in 2016, but there have been a fair few clay rounds through it since then.

I'll keep shooting Winchester and I will consult a gunsmith.

Eley is assembled in UK.the components are sourced from spain -that factory(Spanish) uses same components in Rio ammo.

I used some eley3"no3 in my escort s/a for goose shooting .pretty bloody effective although very dirty in comparison with some other ive used.
My preference now is Hull ammo produced in the UK-stocked by Fosters stihl shop here in CHCH
for game or clays this ammo is just the thing!

I ad some trouble with eley ammo over duck shooting, had two stuck cases that would not extract from my Beretta u/o. No issues using other ammo.
