Nothing wrong with a pump gun in the right place safer in a maimai than an auto excellent for wallabies and bush bashing after pigs. But turn up to a clay target one and they may treat you as if you've got rabies.

Good attendance again yesterday for the Thursday evening shoot with 6 or 7 squads shooting & the archery crew there as well.
Hope full will continue in the new year but more people that turn up will make it worth while .
Thursday evening out can't hurt either. Might even see Mark M to keep his eye in.
5 stand at Thames this weekend xmas shoot I think (100 birds)
Yeah I'm keen to try and get to one before the summer runs out. Couldn't make it to Thames yesterday unfortunately.

Last for the year 17/12 ,did try talking Tony into a Boxing day shoot but he may have other plans .

Should kick off early new year other wise. Couple of ideas to improve my score to try .

Adjustment to LOP ,see if that works. Maybe choke change to bit tighter.

Cool, cannot be too far off with 42's /50. What chokes have you been running?

Personally I like 1/4 and 1/2 for five stand as the targets are not usually too far away. At the last TVDA I shot 1/2 and 3/4, needed to be accurate on the close ones but I think they got me some of the much longer ones on offer that day.

Been running cylinder but may take it to skeet or 1/4. I use 1/4 for steel & is great but could have some thing to do with the back bored barrel tightening pattern. Piss's you off when you know you can shoot better. Will look at stock fit 1st . Suck it n see. 23 or 24 would be nice .

Yeah another good turn out of about 6 squads. The adjustment seems to improve things but had popped my shoulder that was giving me heaps.Hopefully will get a better indication next shoot ,still in the 42/50 club. Change to tighter choke on #4 needed ,other wise nearly where I want to be.Got the 1st 2 & last station sorted 5/5,LOP adjust was a + .

Looking ahead , big shoot at TVDA 14/2 ...100 Birds good table of prizes again ,lunch ,ammo etc available.

Fish & Game Paeroa having a Duck shooters shoot March/April @ TVDA , 50 targets ,good table of goodies.
Targets will be more shootable for the average person in line with field shooting.Hope to gear for 70% hit rate.
Don't want to demoralize people making it to hard.Lunch will be provided at no cost.
Good opportunity to get your eye in before opening weekend . Price & date to be confirmed .

Chris, good to see the LOP change worked for you. Did you try a tighter choke from the outset?

What sort of gun and ammo and you using at the moment?

Tighter choke was an after thought but next time will try it.
