Thread: What to buy.....? 12g shotgun U/O

I know this could turn into a 'popcorn special'....but im after advice on what U/O Shotgun to buy....not after a flash Beretta, just a workhorse for the annual duck season...

been looking around and would ideally like to spend no more than $1000, 12g, must be able to shoot steel shot....guys

Second hand Miroku or a Baikil if you can find one with open chokes (1/4 and /12 or less)

Reloaders has Baikal under/overs with interchangeable chokes for no more than $1000. They look plain but are very tough and function well.

I second the M70 but I have seen them cheaper recently.

I didn't find anyone to beat that price in NZ, AU or UK, so that's why I went for it. Genuinely interested and to the OP, if you can get one cheaper, go for it!

Just waiting for someone to return my call and I will have a price. Pretty sure he has one in the shop now as well.

Yeah, it was quite a bit cheaper a month ago when he got it in. Now same price as above.
I sometimes help out in the shop on weekends and remember a customer ordered it in but never bought it.
Still a good gun for the money imo.

I seriously looked at that gun, almost pulled the trigger so to speak. I liked the idea of a synthetic O&U, but few reviews or much information out there. I did find out that it's not actually made by Mossberg, it's made in Turkey by a different manufacturer and rebadged. That might not be a bad thing, just saying. I'd buy a budget shotgun, but not a budget rifle. If the Miroku hadn't come along, I might have gone for it, but had some reservations.
