why need to ask, he is correct.

the golden was keep out of any standard due to it being used for the golden retriever.

    I love dog threads.

Mines as black as a coalface a mile underground at night so there is no argument on colour, though she does throw a reddish tinge when multing.
I would however argue that she is perhaps not from completely pure lines, might be, but in my uneducated opinion she's too fine.
Yes she was sold to me as a purebred and nope I didn't get her off a recognised Breeder
She's been fetching ducks and hunting fur until recently retired at 14yrs and I reckon if she's still about there will be the odd duck in her next season as well.
    .

By the look of the adult dogs I'd say there a fair chance Dundee's brothers pups will probably turn out just as useful.

Dog people be crazy - I kinda get where they are coming from with the likes of hip and elbow scores etc. But fixing a trait buy back breeding, in breeding, cousin touchin etc is a little strange. Our 10 year old lab is going a little silver fox what colour would this be?

As someone who regularly, on a weekly basis, has to try and help people make something out of something they have bought which is not fit for purpose then I think you should shut your fu... whatever....
By the time someone realizes they have three times the amount of work to get one third the result from an inferior pup they usually have an investment of money, time, emotion and family commitment to a dog that will now live with them for another 10 useless years, all the time while the owner wishes they had a real gundog.

Line-breeding/inbreeding is a very common concept and people can evaluate it uses, or not, and I'm a fan of it's uses, if they know the pedigree... if it has been done with purpose, knowledge and thought, not because they were too fucken lazy to keep dogs in their runs but if they are just buying sight unseen and no one is saying upfront the mother is the product of a Mother son mating then I feel it only responsible to be sure the buyers are aware... quite happy for them to make any choice they want after that, but the information should presented up front.

Why not just ask the NZKC who registers them?

Seriously, why would anyone be interested if they have half a clue? There's a surplus of dogs out there and it doesn't take a lot of effort to sort wheat from chaff.
