I absolutely agree with that, and I can demonstrate how a written standard doesn;t achieve that.... I agree with type, form and confirmation etc etc... and it is done, but knowledgeable dog people without any need for any NZKC written (flawed) piece of paper judged by an overweight woman from buttfuck Idaho or one from the country of origin... it only requires passionate people, with no agenda... and they exist... standards were created by people to ensure others bred dogs like theirs, not better dogs.

I think it shouldn't be discussed here. I will never breed closer than grandparents... others will.. we can slag each other off till hell freezes over.. it won;t change what we do and will waste bandwidth with a wanky argument... or is that what you want???

I took a few squeakers about 20km from home yesterday, released them out side Ormond by the riverbank for their first flight.

Of the ten that went, six came back, including the three ash red males who are good strong flyers. These all obviously home back, the others that didn't come back obviously don't

    Thats my take on breeding

Whats your thoughts on mating Ruff -how close to the dogs or bitches other family members .

EEs Bees I wonder If Robyn Gaskin breeds with her most winning dogs to others or goes to some Hunter in the corner of the farm and uses his dogs ??? my point really
Again , Leon describes this in his book when he chose to use Bills dog as sire on a litter

It would also depend on said dogs breeding. Its like golf, play the course our on.
Why are you asking anyways? Are you planning on bringing your import in pregnant?

I hope some knowledge starts to flow here and personal experiences of breeding from those well read or versed in the pros and cons of matching up animals
