[QUOTE=Ruff;555439]Wait on Kawhia's litter, definitely your best bet.

Im in no huge hurry , but a side note , I spoke to my vet tonight ,asked her about the working lines she said there was someone in ch ch importing cocker gizz & she was asked to do the AI . She is looking into it as she was thinking it was working lines .

There are other breeders, Bob Whitehead for instance, and for different purposes could be a better bet. For trials work or for a fanatic like me, I'd want the highest powered most driven pup I could locate, but that's not your brief. Please don't take this the wrong way, but most of the breeders of that "type" (high powered dog) probably wouldn't sell you one given your brief of family/lap/gundog. They will be more inclined to focus on triallers or people who do a lot of picking up etc. Kawhia's Mrs's cockers are solid working blood, driven, but not overly so, without being too hard to handle. Hence why I recommend them for your purpose. A better shooters dog.

Re-reading this post, although I have been honest from my own experience, and am endevoring to be helpful I fully realise it is unavoidable what I have said will piss someone off!

yeah it piss's me off, I have hunted with Trulock and have found it to be a very biddable line indeed. Self centered breeders promoting their own line become so yesterday indeed.

Have some of his mum with swan as well.
I wouldn't say our dogs are lacking enough for the trials if that's your thing, I enjoyed having ago at them and didn't feel under gunned with our home bred dogs, time does not allow us to follow them as much as we would like, most of the guys and girls competing are childless or retired so we will simply don't have time, dogs and hunting take up the bulk of our time not chewed up by a young family and work.
But there are other breeders now producing and importing some really great working cockers...the future is great for the breed.

We had them too they worked well.
It is a touchy subject criticising somebodies dog.
The Springers had plenty of sting but that is my opinion of the dogs "we" had.

Absolutely not, if you want to read it again it was actually a compliment.

How on any planet could me recommending the person get one of the dogs be considered a troll? It was a recommendation!
