I tell you what is disrespect to the pheasant...no one celebrating it...in the 150th anniversary of their liberation here, wouldnt you think F&G would have done something on that...

El B, because of your concern in disrespecting the pheasant, let me tell you about a wonderful old rooster whom I christened George...we met on the track several times over a number of seasons, the pup on full alert but I allowed the majestic gorgeous bird to evade the young Breton firing on all cylinders...I would turn back and see the old buggar sneaking away, allowing me to laugh out loud, the pup mumbling what the hell and me lifting my hat to him...

One of my special memories of rough shooting...

I remember shooting Samba deer and after having shot one and finding they went at all like fellow used to pretend to shoot them ..very satisfying to know you could if you wanted to but the better game was not doing it --long live the hunt!!!

Yeah, I have an old nemesis that gave me the finger for 3 seasons, when I finally got a bead on him I gave gave him the salute and let him be. World needs more roosters like him.

El B your 300+ mate shoots a place I shoot!

I can understand where this is comming from but I have found that with both grouse and pheasants the older cocks take up more good territory but are less fertile than the younger birds so old cocks are public enemy number one for me.

General rule of thumb if ya want more pheasants shoot the roosters, have a hard time explaining that to some farmers who like having them around.

Its always better to understate your kills and sightings.

"been getting out much.? ""na not for a while" "shoot anything?""didn't even bloody see one" etc.

the more people think your useless the less they ask where you go
