    I was reminded of this thread the other day. I saw the ACME whistles on TM mind you at 30 bucks I thought it was a bit steep I think I paid 2 or 5 for mine.

    The other option (and which I now use) is to get a $9.95 Silent dog whistle from animates. You can tune them to be audible and to the tone you want. I keep about 3-4 in different places (Glove boxes, hunting geear bags, hunting jackets etc so I always have it. When you have them tuned to the same pitch a drop of superglue on the thread keep it in place. I switched to these because I often work my dogs in areas with large numbers of other working dogs all responding to one Acme or another.
