You will get some dogs that do hunt out to 1 side more than the other but nothing bred specically to hunt left or right sides of the handler that I know of.

The dachshund (UK /ˈdæksənd/ or US /ˈdɑːkshʊnt/ DAHKS-huunt or US /ˈdɑːksənt/;[2]) is a short-legged, long-bodied dog breed of dog belonging to the hound family. The standard size dachshund was bred to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature dachshund was developed to hunt smaller prey such as rabbits. In the American West they have also been used to hunt prairie dogs. Today, they are bred for conformation shows and as family pets. Some dachshunds participate in earthdog trials. According to the AKC, the dachshund continues to remain one of the top 10 dog breeds in the United States.[3]

Dumb question here but do you get left and right hand pointers.
There are many people who believe that pointer and setter work is all about the point, or find, and the shot. It is in fact all about ground treatment, the pattern. The dog that has the superior pattern will get more of the available birds. I hear such bull talked by some shooting men about wanting their dog to do the hedges first. Undeniably if you smash about in a field guldering at your dog the pheasants will run to the hedges but go quietly with a dog doing it's ground and you will pick them off in the field and they won't slip away into the next field as easily.
Very occasionally you will come across a bit of ground that you don't really want to walk through so you walk the edge and the dog quarters the field. In this situation all it's work will be to one side of you but other than that you will usually have ground either side of you and you would expect the dog to do both sides.
It's a bit of a paradox but if you work at a dog having an even sided pattern in training as they mature they seem better able to adapt to any sort of ground thrown at them.

    teckel......... wirehaired dachshund
It gets complicated. In Germany they are all called Teckels, working or otherwise. In the UK Teckel usuall means a working one and the majority of them are rough coated. Buck is what's called "Dark wildboar." Buck is a Standard Dachshund. Because he's from working lines he is a fair bit smaller than a normal one and here in the UK some folk think he's a large minature but he's not. He is some dog though. A lot of dog in a small space.

In the northern hemisphere they poin right paw forward and in southern left paw forward , similar to water going down a sink hole
