Dam Lapphaugens H Moulin
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
If it is the one Ian H Breed and Noel has then yes. That will also depend if the bitch keeps coming along as she currently is which Noels says is very instinctive

Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
when is that litter planed for el brorracho
the bitch is now one and Noel would like to bred at around 2 years old - so around 1 or so years
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
Who owns Gus. I read the below by FT ,he,s understandably pissed
Moulin had that second litter shortly after Leon passed away. Since then it's
sad to conclude that the NZ setter breeding has been on a downturn spiral.
I have also quit the NZ trials, which all were a bit of a joke. Not worth
spending space about on these pages as they are none of my problem. If
people want to spend time attending those it's up to them, I just continue to
keep my eye and interest on Europe. The latest import from Europe was
Vårhaugens Gus. He was from one of several litters I found and contacted
the breeders by mail and phone about. Leon agreed with the Gus-litter and he
was imported by a third party. He is a well-bred dog, with siblings
performing well in Norway, and I was interested in breeding from him. That
was not happening when I was told I had to pay double mating fee and I
wasn't allowed to sell any of the pups to Australia. A bit surprising
considering I organized the import and quite ironic that the breed now is
dying in NZ and blossoming in Australia from using dogs I have bred...

Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
line bred to woody, repeating it again if the mating takes......... seems to be enough out cross there to stop the fifth leg appearing.
el b,
paying a double mating fee, two pups, and restricting where the pups are sold is not really a big issue, you can see why the politics play a part in the setters.
I disagree with the control aspect of Gus's owner--who is it? Given The amount of Setters we need enthusiasm not a binding cant do this ad that contract .I fully sympathize with FT
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
that should say a " dont to add to a binding contract" .Frank Tommy obviously went to some effort to help Gus's owner out --I would be very pissed also
Tweed or not to Tweed that is the question
end of the day 'gus's owner fronted up with the coin, the stud fee was what it was...... gus's owner could have just said no.

is there enuff interest in setters to put this type of restriction in place, I dont have a problem with double mating fee , if you want to keep a breed going then you have to spend $$$$$ somewhere but with the effort/time/phone bills that F-T put into finding this dog , maybe he should have got 1 mating out of it
from what ive been told and it comes from more than 1 source, The idea of charging F-T double stud fee and not allowing pups to be exported to OZ came from another setter breeder in NZ who had a falling out with F-T and just wanted to fuck him over
