    Irish Red and White Setter,I have seen a dog or two in NZ but have never seen them in the field,anyone seen any working

    I've never seen any setters hunting . Are there many hunting in the south island ?

    There are a few as far as NZ numbers go. I know of about a dozen down south.

    Would love one if I could justify one . Don't have enough high country chuckar and quail country . My gsp works well for all rounder , It would not be fair to have a straight bird dog for me as the bird hunting season is never long enough . In saying that I would love to have another dog on the hill while chasing birds , as one dog is never enough .

    I know of 3 owned by one fella in Nelson that uses then on high country birds and another in Wellington with 2 as gun dogs also
