Her you go Toby. My gift to you and the forum.

You can use it whenever and where ever you choose, but I thought this might be a good place to start.

Mating half brother / half sister with Brick as a father twice, will give you more possibility to have a Brick "Copy" than Brick himself on an outcross bitch. Read Whele's book on breeding pointers and you will see intresting things.

read it, not the way I would go because you are left at a dead end with only a massive outcross as your next option... I want another "like" him, not another him... I follow Jim Clarke's methodology on breeding... has worked for a long time... but thanks... Bob Wehle has some interesting theories but i follow a few other ideas....

Jim's methodology has meant he can stay within his line 100%, not create the genetic issues close breeding invariably creates and still have type and hunt... and have no need for extreme outcrossing.

She loves the free fresh wind in her hair; Life without care. She's broke but it's oke; that's why the lady is a tramp.

Probably depends on how far you throw them.

Ruff, having lost an aged dog who was an completely good dog, I understand your conundrum. It is difficult. I have dogs here that take my breathe away when they hunt...bird in the oven or not is no matter when you see them work like that...I think it is what makes you get out there...seeing their tenancy and intent and well, utter pleasure in ruining a nice rooster's day.
What breed?...well, there is only one for me, although I appreciate the capabilities and work of any good gundog...whatever way you choose to go, and while I guess there will never be another like your Brick, but you will make one as near as possible.
