Agree @Tahr there is one thing being able to hold yourself together under pressure and then there is not. I asked a dimple question and got put in a box with some others, in my mind not how you run a business.

Yes he does a gd job, but the question is where did he learn his trade?? funny thing is not many will know and maybe he won't admit but hey that's a whole other story.

At the end of the day it don't matter where you learn shit it's what you do with it.

Learn his trade you say? haha! I've been rattling around NZ hunting forums over a decade now - hell, I even remember when the FnH forum was blue and yes, I recall when a certain dog guru was asking all the questions all us mere mortals have asked at some stage

He has a product, and a market for it, good on him. He has capitalized on the fashion of indicating dogs, and given the people what they want, a paint-by-numbers training aid that is readily available in other gundog codes.

I think it will be the standard from now in indicating dogs until someone improves upon it, as is the case in many training aids, aka Derry Argues' Pointer and Setter videos, David Lissett's works on spainel training etc. - videos that didn't reinvent the wheel, just showed a higher level of attainment in time proven techniques. It will be interesting to see where and how it develops the sport in NZ.

Is it worth it to you? only you yourself can decide.

Did you sign up to anything terms/conditions etc? Changing the price part way through something like that is possibly illegal. Not sure how you would find out though. Consumer guarantees act?

I think people are being a bit harsh. Paul saw how others trained dogs in a style they had developed with Paul Hutton. He took it and marketed it. 99% of dog people didn't have that knowledge, there is/was a desperate need for that knowledge and he provided it. It's always seemed strange to me that Kiwi hunters are such shocking dog trainers, but I believe that is because in most instances it is just the hunter and the dog on the hill and no one there to witness indiscretions. When you have a constant audience you tend to lift your game.

I am a commercial trainer, have been for some time. I spend more time with "problem dogs" than anything else which is a totally different perspective. Everyone brings something to the table. I know Paul thinks he's the second coming of Christ when it comes to dogs, but that is just delusion. Well, not really, he's just selling stuff. I give away FREE advice every single night of the week, the phone here runs hot. I guess I am a poor businessman, but many problems I could charge for I fix talking to owners on the phone. I guess in some ways that makes me a "good guy" but on the other hand I'm always broke. I have knowledge, I can charge for it and don't, that is probably a bit thick.

If I was training some heading dog to be a deer indicating there would be parts of the "Blueprint" I may incorporate. But not all. Most of it is based in dumbing the dog down enough so that someone who can't really handle a dog can handle a dog. My approach has always been to raise my ability to meet the dog, not drag the dog down to my level.

Stop bitching folks. I agree changing the pricing half way through seems to lack any integrity. I don;t know Paul well enough to know if he is driven by making a difference or getting rich so will not provide conjecture on that. But the fact is Paul didn't invent this, he was taught this by other people, this isn't new. Never was, never will be and the "Blueprint" is not the only place to get this sort of info.

Paul likes to slag off anyone with a dog that isn't him. I would never do that, I have personally always acknowledged the people who taught m e and who influenced me. I always show respect to other handlers that I do respect. I would NEVER put a dog I also wanted to use for bird hunting or retrieving through this program. MASSIVE mistake. But if I had a dog I wanted to use only for deer hunting and no knowledge on how to get a result. I think the Blueprint would be a bloody good start!

    This might help you

Buying and selling online | Commerce Commission

What obligations do those selling online have?
Traders selling online need to make sure they comply with both the Fair Trading Act and the Consumer Guarantees Act.

    Fair Trading Act

Under the Fair Trading Act traders selling goods online must:

make it clear to potential buyers that they are in trade (see above)
    ensure any representations
they make about the goods or service are accurate and do not mislead
    or deceive
    consumers
not mislead consumers about their rights and obligations
avoid engaging in unfair sales practices, such as bait advertising or pyramid selling
have a reasonable basis for any claims they make about their products or services, whether the claims are expressed or implied – you can read more in our Unsubstantiated Representations fact sheet
comply with the product safety and consumer information standards where relevant, and not sell any goods prohibited by an unsafe goods notice.

A phone call to the Commerce commision will give you an idea of your legal standings

More so how many posts come over as this is the only way and someone else says no this is the only way. Seems to flow with the dog posts in many different threads.

Hi found it he is paul Micheals watched his trailer, he looks pretty good to me, we having be hunt all our lives both my husband and I he and I and his father where professional possum hunters and we both deer stalk and his father was a "deer culler". Most of what he said rang true to both of us.

It's a series of videos you can buy. Which outline step by step how to train a dog to track, indicate and find a deer. Which make sit easy for people with no experience with dogs or anyone to teach them to get a useful dog
