That'd wind you up alright. But yeah my old gsps were no good on live pigs at all. Never figured out why, i never sent them into bails or anything like that, but they never liked shot pigs either.

How do the pointer types find and bail pigs? I have no experience with them.
Some of the Pointers have very thin coats and get cold easily. Have seen Lab X Heading dogs and they are very good and mad keen hunters. VG as long as the Lab has got brains. Mine is Vizla X Heading dog and the HD makes it a good cross because of the toughness. The flat coated Vizla's are very bouncy and also feel the cold whereas the wirehair Vizla is a cross with a GWP. A GWP is a tough and brainy dog, I am sure they would bail and be smart enough to not get ripped and make a good cross with heading dog

Lots of video out showing GWP catching pigs over here on the ear. However they don’t seem to hit them hard and pull them up as quickly as s good bull Arab type dog.
