All comes down to how much raw meat your dog is normally fed, is this near the same portion. Plus I take it the meat is from a fallow not a fellow.
I wouldn't even cut the damage off...feeding venison to dogs is like feeding strawberries to pigs...no problem.
I offered to give a friend some venison bones with meat on for his GSP.
He said fine except for the damaged area, his reasoning being that it usually has metal fragments from the expansion of the projectile in it.
Not a good idea for dogs to eat, due to the possibility of the dog suffering internal cuts from what it eats.

Whenever i give mine a feed they are put somewhere they can make a mess in the night and the next day.... not the back of the truck.
You wont want them inside (a tent) with the gasses released after
I have been slow cooking my off cuts but it’s a lot of effort
If the dog lives indoors or will be travelling in a car/SUV don’t feed it a lot of meat!
I would trim off the damaged meat, I have swallowed jacket fragments in a backsteak and it isn’t pleasant.
Small amount for a start if not a regular raw meat eater. Too much and it will be out the back end pretty quick. As mentioned cut away the damage in case of bullet frag.
I didnt specify but they are friends dogs i gave him four shoulders yesterday and we weren't sure ,
As suggested he has given them some cuts equivalent to a normal feed.
They loved it and we will see what happens i suppose.
Thanks for the advice
