You're not getting it.

I'm not a trainer, I'm a breeder. Why would I jump through hoops to get a dog to perform then breed from it? I'm trying to produce talented dogs with good temperaments that are easy to train. Not stuff you have to deal with a canine psychologist to deal with. Therefore I only breed from dogs that fit that criteria.

Regardless, He had a major temperament fault. He's gone. He was my dog and I have to live with the decision just as I would have had to live with the consequences had I done nothing.

But then again everything I say is wrong so what difference does it make.

RCGSP, you have my utmost respect. There can be no exceptions with conformation, temperament and work...it is what is in the breeders heart, the passion and endeavour on behalf of the breed that truly counts. Go well.

Tough times mate. Chin up, that would have been a very hard D. There are many others on here that have had to say goodbye to a friend for whatever reason. It's not a nice thing my thoughts are with you and your family, two and four legged.

To anyone reading this, this is the sort of guy you can safely buy a dog off, one prepared to make hard calls after spending tens of thousands to get one here.

Shit sorry Moonhunt I didn't ignore your offer, I just hadn't been back in this thread. I would struggle to follow dogs these days as I am way overweight and unfit (but working on it). I would love to though if for no reason other than honouring my old man who hunted pigs with a knife over dogs for years. I'll take a rain check on that offer if I can and focus on losing 20 kilo's and getting fit first.

Yeah I get it... and i was being nice, you threw that in my face.

I also agree with you on many occasions... so get passed that.

I get you'd be a bit emotional on this subject, you had a lot invested in the dog, my heart genuinely went out to you.

However, I wouldn't hesitate to euthanise a dog too if I'd explored every option. Every dog ever born is capable of aggression and can only make dog decisions... This is the kind of work I do, some can be fixed, others not, but it's rarely fundamentally temperament in gundogs... but your call, I'll respect it. But there are advances in these areas been made yu may not be aware of, and I'm perfectly happy to share them anytime with you at no cost. I also make no caveat of a need for them to accepted, but they are always available to be offered in such a dire situation.

Anyway, I made a genuine offer of codonlance and sympathy and you took it the wrong way. My offer was genuine, I hope 2013 pans out better for you.

Rushy I am unfit as buggery, we should get together and go for a walk just because I don't need to loose 20kilo doesn't mean I am a marathon runner.. when I joined the army, my staff were surprised (in a bad way!) at my 14min run time running behind this dog is the only thing that has kept me able to climb stairs!!

exactly what i was thinking , aggression is often just a habit that has manifested slowly over time , correct handling can often fix very quickly

guys like ruff fix this stuff all the time ,, i know another guy that at times deals with dogs that self mutilate and fixed it very easily,,, its all just behaviors and habits that can be changed with correct handling , its just stress , its how the dog lets it out, like a dog that eats grass when sitting ,, just another habbit that can be changed
