I would like to see society adopt the same rules on career beneficiaries as dogs. Fix them and drop the hopeless cases down a hole.
Do you hava any in mind 7mmwsm? Im in the Bay so would be all good traveling to the Waikato for a dog.

I totally agree with what your saying 7mmwsm.Mine current dog came from a couple that where moving to a new farm & weren't able to take Shadow with them .Think I got a bloody good deal for $50 but was more important to them that he went to a good home.If they seen him now I think they'd be pretty happy with how he's worked out too .Not like he has no purpose in life & he gets to do what his breed was intended to .

Just found the number cause I 'm thinking of replacing the pup the cook stole.
This thing is showing the right signs and is about the calmest pup I've ever seen. First cross GWP-Springer. Ratted out a long dead duck at the lake today
Do you want to ask about one for you to Gibo?

For a deer dog it wouldn't be my first choice. Not be a long shot.

I would have thought they would make a great little indicating dog, or are you thinking the whole package, something that can pull a wounded deer down also

I can only go off the one here, so it might not be standard. But they move very fast even when on game.

What would be some of your picks for an indicating dog

I have been thinking of heading this way in the future

One option for me that i have been mulling over is crossing my little bitch with a gsp up the road
She hunts pigs, but does indicate, works close in etc

I have seen the gsp crossed over his eye dog, unplanned, but saw one of the pups the other day and wow what cross that is, some have gone for SAR
