    Know of one that didn't like little dogs, neither did the owner. Was out for a walk and it cooked it's leg on a furry rat dog, owner had to hide his grin and try telling the dog off

    they were bred to hunt lions and to be timid so they wouldnt try go in after one. not much chance for a dog against a lion. this makes them weary and timid at unusual things. we had one in south africa and he was a big chicken!

    Got a mate who has a rather robust bitch. Not saying she's dangerous, but you try and get near his front door. She'll kill you!
    It is difficult to win an argument with an intelligent person! It is near impossible with a stupid person!

    Problem right there.

    I have a robust Wirehair, he climbs the gate, he looks ferocious thought it;
    however give him a pat, steal my ute so long as you chuck him in, he's yours.

    I'm interested in a Ridgeback as well. From what I'm reading on this forum they're not that crash hot though?! Maybe crossed with a Viszla might be the go

    the history around which breeds were used in the mix to create the ridgey is debateable with many different slants on it .... some say vizla was used in the mix ....just get a vizla for hunting and a ridgey to look after mum while your away...
