Does he like retrieving a ball? Donyou have enough control that you could line up all dogs throw a ball and tell whichever one to go and retrieve it?

The ball might sound unrelated but id be trying to get them.used to working/completing a task in front of each other and see if you can build on that.
the old bitch isn t into the ball retrieving scene shes like 10 or 11 and the other 2 don't know what that is since theyr my bosses dogs. theyr fine around each other when im not hunting they play and chase each other. when it comes to possums he out does them 3. I took the 4 out oneday and these 3 stayed with me while mine found 19....
I think its a pack order thing,he's been taught his place by the other dogs & when they're around his place is with you.
If he doesn't comply he'll get a hiding from the others, probably feels safer with you .
Gun control means using both hands
yea its probably that hes a bit of a softy. if dogs growl at him he thinks its funny and trys to play or sulks back to me
That was my thinking..was wondering if it would become evident with possession of retrieves if they were into making retrieves. The only way i could see fixing it would be clear lines of control (from dog handler) in high prey situation so they know handler is.boss while huntimg and do.away with some of the pack issues. Question is, how much of a problem is it, is it worth the effort to fix? Is there one in particular that makes him timid? I.e if one of them isnt there does he hunt better?
to me its a absolute pain in the ass because hes a awesome hunter and can find stuff when he hunts properly but cant stop them aswell as the other 3. I could try hunting just him and the old bitch and see if he changes?
