    Wirehaired Pointer Pups for Sale

Six gorgeous pups available for hunting / family homes. Born 4 December 2023.

    See TradeMe Listing #4515350320

The dam (Scout) is a wire-haired pointer that we believe is of the Griffin strain. She came to us at nine months old from Gore. Dam has predominantly hunted pheasants and of recent times been introduced to deer hunting. Has not done a lot of duck hunting but we’re happy with her performance. She is a great family dog, loyal and calm temperament.

The sire (Herman) is a wire-haired pointer from Jim’s Bunny Hunters, see: https://www.facebook.com/jimsbunnyhunters/

Both are genuine field hunting parents. Photo 8 is the dam and 9 is the sire.

This hybrid provides the best traits of both parent breeds. Griffin details available here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireha...nting_Griffon/

Pups raised in household with children and livestock and handled extensively. 4x males & 2x females available, ideal for tracking and indicating on deer, upland and waterfowl.

Pictures indicate male / female status as per description.
    Females $2,500 males $2,000.

All puppies will have first vaccination, be wormed/flea treated and come with a bag of puppy feed. Will be available at nine weeks of age: from 30/01/2024

No breeders conditions on sold puppies.

There will be a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure a pup.
Please contact Murray on 021 063 8883 (evenings) or e-mail mailto:northviewbrydon@gmail.com for any questions or queries.

Photos / videos available on request.

It's a shame whats happened to the GWP in NZ. There are no NZ registered breeders with Dogs NZ and as far as I know the only pure GWP's being bred from refreshed bloodlines are Hotwyr who have links with Aus and are show oriented (but plenty of them hunt and hunt well).

The Drahthaar seems to be struggling along but have had a difficult time getting over recognition of non docked dogs within the hierarchy in Germany.

Since I bought my GWP about 14 years ago there has been a steady decline in the GWP and a the rise and almost demise of the Drahthaar.
It's a real shame because its a wonderful hunting breed.

This isn't to deride the pups advertised here by the brand new member. They likely will be good hunters, but just aren't the pure pups bred by progressive breeders that the breed so badly needs.

You only get a short window of time where you can edit/update a post. Best bet is to re write and put the new details in a new post on the same thread.
