Just a before and after.
Top man @Billbob , showed my mate that pic of his head and he’s chuffed, looked forward to seeing it in the flesh next week
Haha I do love a bit of deer head soup.....!!
I did several that had badly weathered and hoofed it down to paint shop picked a cream coloured water based paint that looked as close to natural skull as I could two coats - condes crystal for the antlers and yeah very pleased with result
Here is @Micky Duck 12 pointer from last week. I had to fit a plaque from @HoppyV8 and a little unconventional method to mount it with no atlas joint that I normally use.
Note to self. The 130grn corelock.270 is not ideal for finishing round unless I go slightly further down neck lol. Beautiful job mate, absolutely stoked with end result
75/15/10 black powder matters
Billbob, what do you use to bleach the skulls after boiling?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
lots and lots of really great tutorials recipes on you tube for bleaching skulls
I've found the Whitebone Creations YouTube channel really helpful and interesting: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjB...ZiFoJ_AwVfztaA
This is an incredible mount. I haven't worked out the gloss finish yet. That's next on my list. This one is so slick, I'm really impressed! Also what a stunning set of antlers that is @Micky Duck
How did you go about attaching it to the shield Billbob? I'm currently facing a similar situation. Also thanks to a 270win!
This photo is the other side. Drilled through the molars (which I was very nervous doing) pilot hole then slowly up to 6mm, then threaded rod to some flat T nut things inside the skull and cabinet connector nuts in the plaque. I do like how no fasteners are seen.
