    New Plymouth Need4 Speed

Its a bit slow on the pistol shooting front so heres video from the ipsc portion of the weekends match in New Plymouth.

Met a bunch of good people that i had never bumped into before. I havnt shot an away match since november last year and it was good to get out there and catch up with some of the guys, and girls.

Thanks to New Plymouth pistol club for putting on the match, good effort

Yes the ferns on top of all the berms made it quite picturesque, especially their 100mtr range.

And i now realise i have fked up the stage order in the video.

Everything goes to plan until the buzzer goes off
Just realised after watching the video perhaps you meant the order of stages not mucking your stage planning up. Wicked shooting mate, looks like a sweet set up they have there, some tricky stages too

I have never really been into pistol shooting, but that looks fun as anything.

How long does it take to get into shooting like this?

@hispeedlodrag You have to be committed to getting your b endorsement and staying active ( 12 shoots a year ) which is once a month in reality. Belong to a pistol club and PNZ. It’s bloody awesome, I threw in the towel with rugby a couple years back but still wanted to do something competitive that didn’t bash the body up. IPSC is a great competitor sport but also many shoot just for fun.

To get a B endorsement you are looking at a 6 month probation after joining your local club. You will need at least 12 visits/Club shoots/Training days in that time before the club will sign you off.

If you want to fast track things a bit, find a holster trainer and get through an action holster course in that first 6 months with a club gun. He or she will also be able to point you in the right direction for the right gear. If you want to shoot IPSC, don't get advice from people that dont compete, you'll just end up with gear and guns that "are perfectly good" but actually useless for competition
