Revoke access to your car regitration details

    https://transact.nzta.govt.nz/transa...foAccess/entry

Use the website above to stop people finding out your personal details by using your car licence plate details.

doesn't take long, just needs your drivers licence details and licence plate info.

You haven't been able to access address or personal details via the plate for like 7 or 8 years

Yes of course, I'm just saying I wouldn't panic. My vehicles are all registered via a company address with a physical address 30+km away anyway. If they really want to find you, they will. They will attach a tracking device to your car in the gunshop carpark, or the range carpark, or wherever.

I used to use our company system to find details for debt collection, or if I got a phone number wrong, or the wife of the owner wasn't answering, or a zillion other reasons. We paid a flat rate and had as many "look ups" as we wanted due to it being a partner to a very large company that dealt with that sort of thing. But unfortunately it was no longer possible after the rule change aroouunnddd mid-late 2009 from memory. Not more expensive, but just plain couldn't do it. That's as much as I know.
