A great chap who I had some really good chats with.
Always wanting to help all those that he could and he always managed to find the shiny side of life.
I was looking forward to a trip with him later in the year. Now not to be.
    RIP Brian.
    Condolences to @TimeRider and family

Picture of Brian getting gear ready for a shoot near Tekapo in 2022. We were told site was shot out by everybody and bunnies very spooky. They were - would run several hundred meters on seeing us. But...from past experience we figured Maxtoch lights would hold them at night, and they did. Bunnies would run 100-150m then stop for a lookie - Boom! Popped 300+ in an evening on that site.

On another occasion we wandered into a nice little spot down there and had a very enjoyable evening. Not big numbers but about 75-80 bunnies, then 25 wallabies, and 3 deer. One of them Brian's first deer. Happy boy

Back when I joined the forum my first attempt to post a link was a failure But like a true friend Brian posted the link for me That was the start of a great appreciation of each others music. May he rest in peace Harry G

RIP Brian, A fantastic bloke. Its kind of bizarre his heart gave out with it being so big, kind, warm, caring, giving, sharing, helping........... "Indeed" would probably be his reply. I first met Gadgetman on a forum like many of us did & then got to meet him in person on a hunt with some other forum members roughly 15 years ago, over the following years we went on many hunts, got lost on a large farm that had what seemed like 6 or7 large yellow Bulldozers..... many jokes about that trip, had dinners, went on long slow drives (Nissan Patrol non turbo) it always got there...... even towed me out when bogged, family outings hunting with the kids etc. After the Earthquakes Brian even came over to help dig out my house from the liquifaction day after day saying "I dont have any of my own so thought I would come & play with yours" -he had a great sense of humour. Many of the things we shot he would take home to eat..... the claytargets not so much, bit crunchy was his comment. He was always helping people, especially with tech stuff & a real wizz with the torches. Brian will be missed but he will live on within as the stories, legends, laughs, adventures being retold will certainly keep his memory alive in my family & hunting family..... RIP Brian (Gadgetman)

Isn’t it strange how life works? Here was a man as good as good can be, and taken far too soon while ugly old buggers like me somehow keep dodging the bullet. RIP Brian. My first contact with you was when you were flirting with the idea of making a match between young Toby and @TimeRider and you were seeking my opinion as to his calibre and suitability for inclusion in your family. Ironically, it was at the first memorial shoot in Toby’s honour that we first met. You initially struck me as a strange sort of character and quite uniquely different from the rest of us yobo’s but you set about joining in and conversation with you was brilliant to participate in. We met a number of times at forum gatherings over the last decade and on every occasion I was happy to re engage in discussions with you (although I fear that at times our viewpoint was diametrically opposed, but it mattered not). I am saddened by your passing and my heartfelt sympathy, condolences and commiserations go out to your family. Rest in peace old mate and if you happen to be wandering the hills of the hereafter keep a keen eye out for that lanky young fellah and if you come across him, tell him that in hindsight you think he fucked up the chance he had by checking out way too soon (as indeed you have now yourself). Life is for living and you certainly packed a fair amount of living into yours despite at times a significant amount of adversity attempting to prevent you from doing so.
